Michigan winters are brutal. Luckily, spring is on its way. Before you go out and celebrate the warm weather, you’ll want to make sure your car is ready to join you. Here are three signs your car is not ready for spring:
- It’s still covered in salt: Road salt is terrible for your car, as it can quickly lead to rust. If you haven’t yet taken your car through the car wash, you’ll want to do it soon.
- Your wiper blades are leaving streaks: Wiper blades only last about six to 12 months, on average. After a snowy winter, your wiper blades may be near the end of their life. Replace yours before your big spring break road trip.
- You haven’t gotten routine maintenance: How long has it been since you had your car’s oil changed? How about a tire rotation? Routine maintenance is important at all times of the year, but winter can be especially rough on your car. Spring is an important time to double check your car’s maintenance schedule and make sure your mechanic does a thorough inspection of your vehicle, checking the condition of your brakes, tires, battery, engine, and more.
