Cleaning out your car is always a hassle. Many drivers put it off until they can’t any longer. While some may settle for the bare minimum, others enjoy a spotless vehicle. Whether you’re one of them or not, here are a few car cleaning tips for you to keep your vehicle squeaky clean!
Shampoo the carpets and upholstery. No matter how clean it looks, it’s likely your vehicle’s carpets and upholstery are dirty. Just think about it—how many times have you dropped food or drink on the floor mats? Have you ever gotten into your car after a hike or leapt in with muddy shoes? Have you ever been in your car after walking outside? If you answered “yes” to these questions—and you should have—then you need to bust out the shampoo and scrub brush. These items are the cheapest, easiest way to get both your carpets and your upholstery clean.
Dust the air vents. While a quick vacuuming may make the air vents look clean, there’s still dust and dirt further inside. If you forego cleaning them, you could end up spreading more dust and dirt throughout your just-cleaned car. For a quick fix, grab a long bristled paint brush, spray it with furniture polish, and clean deep inside.
Get a trashcan for your car. Having somewhere to throw away trash while you’re driving can do wonders to keep your car clean. If you’re one of those people who enjoy a spotless vehicle, you may already have one. If you aren’t, you may want to get one. The less trash on the floor, the longer you can put off a full cleaning!
